Volunteering for Alcott Families
How You Can Help
We are currently delivering food from Forgotten Harvest to Alcott families during the pandemic. Volunteers pick up food from Forgotten Harvest, sort it at the church, package it into boxes and bags and then volunteers drive the food to families on Thursdays. If you'd like to participate in this ministry, please contact Cindy Merten.
We may be continuing Shop 'N Drop in the fall.

Our History
In the fall of 2006, Everybody's Church initiated a relationship with Louisa May Alcott Elementary School in Pontiac. It began with a small cadre of tutors and has expanded to more than three-dozen tutors working with the students on a weekly basis. In addition we have assisted in reopening their library, providing a computer lab, i-pads and funding for a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program, appreciation meals for faculty, and food and clothing for children and families in need.
This fall we are participating in a district-wide Back to School Rally and, in partnership with Flagstar Bank, provided backpacks with school supplies for each Alcott student. Other events in partnership with the Pontiac community and other churches include Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter baskets of food.

Literacy tutors are needed to work with children one-on-one or in small groups. No experience is necessary. An introduction to the program and training are provided. Contact Cindy Merten (click here) for more information.
Prayers for the children, families and faculty of all Pontiac schools are always needed.
