Chris Lees and Lindsay Kesselman join outstanding soloists from the Birmingham-First Chamber Choir. Chris is a brilliant conductor; Lindsay is a brilliant soprano. So this concert promises to be a brilliant evening with some of your very favorite music.

Our founder and Artistic Director, Tom Trenney, conducts the Birmingham-First Chamber Choir in the world premiere of Carmen Cavallaro’s “Wild A Dream,” plus American folk songs, hymns, music of Eric Whitacre, and a mass for choir and bluegrass band.

Anne Wilson, critically acclaimed conductor, composer and organist, will lead the Festival Choir and the audience in music from around the world. So tune up your vocal chords and sing in the audience. Or come to one rehearsal Saturday and sing in the choir. Or just relax, listen and enjoy.

Many Voices One Song MUSIC MARATHON

Saturday March 20, 2010, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM

12 glorious hours of music. Come when you want to. Leave when you want to. You’ll hear outstanding high school groups, college groups, local professional groups, the Birmingham-First Chamber Choir, the U of M Men’s Glee Club. Vocal … instrumental … orchestral … rock … you name it. A new group every half hour. We’ll have some of everything. So you have to love it.

Dramatic, exciting music for chorus and organ. The Many Voices … One song Festival Choir will be singing. The popular Bradley Bloom, retired professor from the music school at U of M, will be conducting. And the magnificent new FPC organ will be played by the internationally known Scott VanOrnum.

OUTBURSTS OF JOY

The wonderful Tom Trenney will be here to conduct. Andrew Kotylo will be here to share his terrific organ talent. And the Birmingham-First Chamber Choir will sing joyful works of Benjamin Britten, Maurice Duruflé and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Concert Series is offered by Many Voices…One Song as part of its mission: sharing music to build community.  Concert events are free of charge, and a meet-the-artists reception follows each program.  Freewill offerings will be collected to benefit further initiatives of Many Voices…One Song.
