The Living Love 1,666 Project
In Kenya there are more than 380,000 children between 6 and 18 months who lack essential nutrients in their diets. This lack of early nutrients effects both physical and brain growth.
Church World Service has instituted a program to meet this need.
For $12 a year one child can be given Vitalita, a mixture of micronutrient multivitamins including iron, zinc, Vitamin A and folic acid. This mixture comes in a powder which is mixed with a child’s food and helps to eliminate child malnutrition and anemia. This program helps children to thrive.
The goal of The Living Love 1,666 Project was to raise $10,000 from our congregation (which was to be matched by $10,000 from First Foundation) thus providing Vitalita nutrient packets to 1,666 children for a year. WE REACHED AND EXCEEDED OUR GOAL! We raised $12,000 which was matched by First Foundation, thus providing Vitalita nutrient packets to 2,000 children for a year!
