The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe includes many great roles for a cast of 16 – 25 actors of school age. In this delightful story, four children are sent to the countryside to live with Professor Digory Kirke and his housekeeper, Mrs. Macready during World War II. One rainy day, the children decide to explore the house. Lucy, the youngest, is curious about the wardrobe in an empty room and discovers that it is a portal to a snow covered forest with a gaslight post in the center. There she meets a faun, Tummus, who invites her to his home for tea. There she learns of Narnia. Lucy returns through the wardrobe, having spent hours in Narnia only to find only a few seconds have passed in England. Later Lucy returns with Edmund and later with Susan and Peter. The children become involved in the war between Alsan and the White Witch. The children are crowned Kings and Queens through their heroic fight of battle. The children finally find their way back through the wardrobe to find time has not changed.
