NICHOLS & SIMPSON, ORGANBUILDERS
Seeing a pipe organ for the first time at age seven, and then by the age of  thirteen, having read every book on pipe organs in the Louisiana State University library,
Joe Nichols
began his life journey.   Following training as an organ major, he began working in 1977 with Lecil Gibson of Little Rock, Arkansas, becoming a principal in the firm in 1979.  In 1983, he formed his own company with Wayne Simpson.  Joe is widely recognized for mechanical craftsmanship, technical innovations, and unwavering joyous commitment to each aspect of his work.

On campus, Wayne Simpson, a Henderson State University voice major, soon found himself interested in the organ.  As his love for the instrument grew, he also came in contact with the only local organbuilder, Lecil Gibson and began to work with him in 1977.  It was here that Wayne’s working relationship with Joe Nichols developed and grew.  With his dedication to perfection, particularly to impeccable tonal finishing, Wayne is recognized as one of the nation’s most accomplished voicers of the organ.

Nichols and Simpson is truly a partnership of artistry, ethics, and professionalism. Click here to follow the progress of our project on Nichols & Simpson's web site.

CONSTANTINE GEORGE PAPPAS – ARCHITECT
In 1982, Guss created his Troy, Michigan, firm to serve the needs of the country’s religious community.  His commitment and design methodology, which is both progressive and considerate of architectural traditions, has distinguished him as a leader in the field.   With respect for liturgical setting, history, and imagery, the firm has received numerous awards for its innovative and sensitive approaches.  In our area, Guss’ firm has completed projects in Troy, Bloomfield Hills, Grosse Pointe Farms, and Ann Arbor.

SCOTT RIEDEL – ACOUSTICIAN
Nationally known and highly respected, Scott and his associates located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, have provided services for over 20 years to more than 500 satisfied clients for the development of acoustical environments and the design of sound and video systems.  Their work takes them across the country, and among one of their current projects is Moorings Presbyterian in Naples, Florida.

FRANK FRIEMEL – ORGAN CASE DESIGNER
Working in close association with organbuilders Nichols & Simpson,  Frank’s graceful and elegant designs reveal his thoughtful consideration of not only the instrument but of the setting it occupies.   One example of his expertise can be seen in the newly installed organ at Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota, Florida.
