New Inquirers' Class begins in
November
Membership classes
The next Inquirers’ Class will meet Tuesdays, November
8, 22 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the newly redone Fireside Room.
Please call the church
(248-644-2040) to register for our inquirers' classes. The classes
include an introductory session with one of our pastors. There will
be information covering Presbyterian heritage and beliefs, worship
and sacraments, reformed theology, stewardship and Presbyterian
governance. A tour of the church and highlights of its history will
also be included. Dinner will be on us for each of the evening
sessions.
Those who wish to join our
congregation will be received by the Session (governing board)
following participation in the Inquirers' Classes. New members are
introduced to the congregation at the worship service of their
choice.
Did you know there
are three ways to become a member of FPC?
By Letter of
Transfer
– If you are joining from another
Presbyterian or Protestant congregation, we will write them for a
letter of transfer.
By Re-affirmation of
Faith
– If you are joining after a period of inactivity from church, or
from a church that does not issue letters of transfer, you re-affirm
your baptismal vows. We recognize all Christian baptisms, regardless
of denomination.
By Profession of Faith
and Baptism
– If you have never been baptized, you will make a profession of
Christian faith, and receive the Sacrament of Baptism. We offer
frequent "Baptism Instruction" classes; please contact one of the
ministers (required for baptism)
