One definition of theology is that
it is “faith seeking understanding.” As Christians at FPC, we
are not content to merely say “I believe,” and stop there. As
people of faith we believe we have a responsibility to continue the
lifelong process of seeking further understanding so our knowledge
of who God is and what God has done in Jesus Christ can grow. When
we study together we build our community of faith and grow both
individually and as a church community. Please consider attending
the following classes offered throughout the week.
For further
information, please contact Cindy Merten, Director of Christian
Education at 248-644-2087 Ext. 145.

Third Wednesday Bible
Studies
Third Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. in Calvin Hall.
All are welcome to join Presbyterian Women for this study Above
and Beyond: Hearing God’s Call in Jonah and Ruth authored by
Carol M. Bechtel. What does it mean to hear God’s call? It is often
assumed that only those who go into some kind of formal, full-time
ministry have heard a “Call.” In the 2007-2008 Horizons Bible Study,
Old Testament scholar and pastor, Carol Bechtel, looks at what God’s
call meant for Jonah and Ruth. Not just a “fish story” or a
Cinderella tale, these biblical books, says Bechtel, offer us
insight into what it means for each of us to hear and heed God’s
call.
