Confirmation is a journey into adult spiritual development. Surrounded and supported by the church community, students are given instruction on core topics of doctrine, polity, and theology as they practice and apply their faith in the real world. The class is designed for 9th grade students, but students may participate in Confirmation at a different age if it is determined by the parents and the pastor to be appropriate for that student.
Each class begins with a shared meal provided by one of the students' families. All components of the program are mandatory. If a student has to miss a component of the class, make-up components will be made available to them. All Sunday classes will be held in the Youth Room, 11:30-1:30
Our Confirmation class uses the format of the "flipped" classroom, where content is delivered online and discussed and applied in the classroom.
This confirmation process is based on the Five Part Story. The Five Part Story is a meta-narrative we created in order to help people understand not only the entire sweep of the scriptures, but of the process of salvation as well.
